The Value of Fantasy - Hogfather Movie and Discussion
Sanctuary, Tacoma WA “Our story begins on a midwinter festival remarkably similar to your Christmas . . .” Cat and Jim Bilnoski invite you to a showing and discussion of the movie, Hogfather, (2006) in the sanctuary, on Sunday, December 23 from 12:30 to 5:00 p.m. This dark comedy movie runs approximately three hours. We will have a break in the middle, and the discussion afterwards will focus on archetypes and myths perpetuated in modern society, and if they have value or purpose to humanity. You are welcome to bring your lunch or snacks to share. We’ll have popcorn and hot chocolate. Sir Terry Pratchett (1948-2015) was a British satirist whose Discworld novels take place in a fantasy parallel universe. Hogfather is a film approved by Terry Pratchett and based on the novel of the same name. Hogfather does not have an MPAA rating, but the subjects covered and content maturity are appropriate for middle-school and older children. |
