In a wisdom tale, Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh tells us the bump in the road doesn’t create what spills out of the cup we are carrying. Instead it reveals what is already inside. The question is not about who bumps us rather, “What am I carrying in my cup?”
At the request of the Board of Trustees of the Tahoma Unitarian Universalist Congregation (TUUC), a short special meeting of the congregation has been set for 12:00 noon on Sunday, November 3, 2019, in the sanctuary of the church at 1115 South 56th Street, Tacoma, Washington. The business to be considered at this meeting shall be limited to:

Vote on a reassignment of budget lines to provide a stipend for the intern.
Article VI of TUUC’s bylaws sets requirements for congregational meetings,
including that a notice such as this be made in written form thirty days in
advance of the meeting, that the notice shall state the business purpose of the meeting, and that a regular meeting shall be scheduled to occur within 60 days of the end of the fiscal year (June 30).
This article of the bylaws also specifies who may vote at a congregational
meeting. For the meeting on November 3, 2019, members eligible to vote will be those (1) whose membership began on or prior to October 2, 2019 and (2) who have made an identifiable financial contribution to TUUC this fiscal year (which began July 1, 2019) or whose responsibility to make such a contribution has been waived this fiscal year.
The Children’s Religious Exploration Committee will be meeting on Sunday, November 3, and anyone with an interest in Children’s RE is welcome to join us. We will be meeting at The Antique Sandwich Company located at 5012 N. Pearl Street, in Tacoma. Start time is dependent on when the Congregational Meeting ends. Head to the restaurant after the Congregational Meeting, and we will begin once people have ordered their food and gotten settled in. The meeting will run approximately two hours.
