In a wisdom tale, Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh tells us the bump in the road doesn’t create what spills out of the cup we are carrying. Instead it reveals what is already inside. The question is not about who bumps us rather, “What am I carrying in my cup?”
Join Nancy Slocum, Director of Religious Exploration for Children and Youth for a “Kids’ Chapel” via Zoom on Sundays at 11:30 a.m. This program is geared for elementary school-aged children and will provide a little time to connect and share with each other. We still have a Time for All Ages during our online worship service which starts at 10:30 a.m., and encourage children to participate in the worship service through that point.
If you are a parent of a child or children in our Religious Exploration program and have not received the login information, please email Nancy at dir.re@tahomauu.com and she will send you the info.
Safe Parking Overview and Discussion
Sunday, February 7, 2021
12:00 noon
Join an overview of and discussion about the Tacoma/Pierce County Safe Parking Network Pilot Program on Sunday, February 7 at 12:00 noon. What is Safe Parking? How might it impact our community? Who is involved? How does it help? Members of the Ad Hoc Committee on Building and Grounds Security will provide the essentials and respond to your questions and concerns.
This gathering will be on Zoom Meeting. Please use the name you are known by when you log in. The event information is also posted on the church website calendar page.
This meeting is for those interested in planning for Safe Parking organization and implementation. The congregation will vote on the Safe Parking program on Sunday, February 21. If the congregation decides to move forward with the project, this group will be planning potential next steps to move the project forward as quickly as possible following the congregational meeting.
