Sunrise Ritual with Infinite CUUPS

For time immemorial our ancestors have crafted holidays to mark the time of year when we seek the first hopeful signs of spring’s return. The days are noticeably longer, the early flowers are thinking of poking their heads up, and we look ahead to new beginnings, new projects, new plans. What spiritual seeds do you want to plant for your harvest of the year?

Infinite CUUPS, the earth-centered practitioner group of TUUC, is hosting a sunrise ritual to celebrate the first signs of spring. We will meet at 7:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Firefighter’s Park, 801 A Street, Tacoma, WA 98402, to greet the dawn and honor the turning of the Wheel of the Year.

In light of the current and projected COVID risk level, face masks are required for all participants at this outdoor event.

Vaccine Clinic for COVID-19
Church Sanctuary
Saturday, February 5, 2022, 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
TUUC is partnering again with Tacoma/Pierce County Health Department to offer two more COVID vaccine clinics January 15, 2022 and February 5, 2022. Both clinics will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. These will be Pfizer-only clinics, and clinicians will administer both pediatric doses and adult doses. Anyone ages 5 and up can get vaccinated. First dose, second dose, and boosters will be available. We will hold these clinics in the sanctuary following our inside gathering guidelines.

TUUC congregants can help by:

1. Spreading the word! Let family and friends know about these clinics. Word of mouth and social media are effective ways to share information. These are posted on the Tacoma/Pierce County Health Department website.
2. Volunteering to help on January 15 or February 5 for either a 10:30 a.m. -1:00 p.m. shift or a 1:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. shift. Our last two clinics were not heavily attended and we were fine with just one TUUC congregant as church point person. We are hoping that, because these clinics offer pediatric doses, we will be busier. This means we will need congregants to bring people/families who are waiting in the parking lot inside the church, so we can manage numbers and keep within our inside gathering guidelines. We are excited about this continuing collaboration with the Tacoma/Pierce County Health Department. They have been wonderful to work with, the congregation has been supportive and our neighbors have been supportive and appreciative. Let’s keep the good vibes rolling!
