Beloved Companions: Blessing of the Animals

“Beloved Companions: Blessing of the Animals”
Worship Service
with Puget Sound Worship Collaborative

Speaker: Rev. Kristen Kuriga
Sunday, August 22, 2021, 10:30 a.m.

Join us to celebrate our blessing of the animals. This is an opportunity to honor the connection we have with our beloved pets, and to express our gratitude and well wishes for the friendship and care they bring to our lives. There will also be a time to honor and remember pets who have died. We are creating a slide show of members of our congregations with their pets. If you would like a picture included, please send it in an email to: minister@saltwaterchurch.org with “Blessing of the Animals” as the subject. Photos are due by Monday, August 16. We also invite you to bring your pets to worship with you so we can see them and bless them in our live zoom service!

Rev. Kristen Kuriga is the Minister of Saltwater UU Church in Des Moines, WA. Prior to being called at Saltwater, she trained as a chaplain, and served as the Social Justice and South Bay Ministry Teams Coordinator at the First UU Church of San Diego. Rev. Kristen’s passion in ministry is at the intersection of spiritual practice, social justice, and art.

Puget Sound Worship Collaborative Summer Worship Services will be offered via this Zoom Meeting link. The services with Northlake UU Church, Saltwater UU Church, and Tahoma UU Congregation will only be offered via Zoom at the time of the worship service on Sundays at 10:30 a.m., and will not be recorded. The summer worship service Zoom address is a different Zoom address than the one that has been used by TUUC for worship services during pandemic time, so please use this link. You may also join on Zoom using Meeting ID 736 142 4210 for video and audio. To join by phone, dial 669-900-6833 and enter Meeting ID: 736 142 4210 when prompted. Please remember to use your actual name when logging in, so you can be recognized and admitted to the Zoom meeting room.

Offering “plate” donations collected during Sunday worship services in July and August will be split between the congregation receiving the donation and a Share the Plate recipient. You can make contributions to Tahoma UU Contribution each Sunday, and the donation links will be provided during each worship service. In August, BLUU Housing Initiative will be the Share the Plate recipient. The BLUU Northside Housing Cooperative Initiative is a project that embodies our commitment to improve the material conditions of Black lives as an act of our faith.
