The First Step is Admitting, But Not Always In That Order

In order to fix a problem, you need to admit one exists. The surest way for a goal to become reality is to proclaim it from the rooftops. But sometimes it takes a while to even realize that you have a dream or that there is a problem in the first place. So where do you pull over and ask for directions when you’re already well on your way?

Jake Hearen came to Tacoma the first time in 2006 to study Environmental Policy at the University of Puget Sound. Pending the approval of an Army selection board, he will become a Chaplain Candidate in the Army Reserves while studying Interfaith Engagement at Union Theological Seminary this fall. He has been a lifelong Buddhist-inspired UU, it just took until now to realize it.
