This is the Auction Sermon from our 2015 Auction! Kris Kaufman has requested a sermon on this topic for many years, and Linda is willing to take it on. We’ll consider if the US is an empire, and what that means in these days of dramatic change.
“We’ve ALWAYS done it this way!” is a common cry when change is coming. Tradition, our theme for this month, is about holding on to what’s good, but how do we make room for the new while maintaining our identity?
After revelation, what are we called to do? Once something has been revealed what matters is how we respond to it. We’ll consider next steps.
Blue Boat Home Celebration for the Time for all Ages!
Everyone is invited to celebrate Earth Day by coming dressed as your favorite animal, or some part of the earth that you love. Can you be lava? A tree? We’ll make our own special procession to celebrate Earth Day!
Continuing the process of building our awareness of issues around racial justice, this Sunday begins a month during which you are invited to take a Black Lives Matter button and wear it for a month. Our service will provide the context for taking on this challenge and considers what might be revealed to us in the process.
Easter is often a difficult holiday for religious liberals. Even so, the stories and images hold some deeply human truths about the world and our lives. We live every day with uncertainty, and Easter hints at how we continue on.
Our stewardship drive kicks off this Sunday, and we’re looking toward next year and what great things we might accomplish. Hear some of the results from our Cottage Meetings and consider both our dreams and how they might be fulfilled.
