At the request of the Board of Trustees of the Tahoma Unitarian Universalist Congregation (TUUC), the regular (annual) meeting of the congregation has been set for 12:00 noon on Sunday, June 13, 2021. Due to the current closure of the church building because of COVID-19, the congregational meeting will be held on Zoom. Login details for the congregational meeting will be provided to members of the congregation closer to the date of the meeting.
The business to be considered at this meeting shall be limited to:
- Elections: the President, three Board members, one member of the Nominating Committee, and one member of the Endowment Committee
- Financial business: Presentation and adoption of the annual budget (for the operating fund)
- Church business updates related to COVID-19
- Safe Parking
Article VI of TUUC’s bylaws sets requirements for congregational meetings, including that a notice such as this be made in written form thirty days in advance of the meeting, that the notice shall state the business purpose of the meeting, and that a regular meeting shall be scheduled to occur within 60 days of the end of the fiscal year (June 30).
This article of the bylaws also specifies who may vote at a congregational meeting. For the meeting on June 13, 2021, members eligible to vote will be those (1) whose membership began on or prior to May 13, 2021 and (2) who have made an identifiable financial contribution to TUUC this fiscal year (which began July 1, 2020) or whose responsibility to make such a contribution has been waived this fiscal year.
