Sandwich making at the church begins at 5:30 p.m. Participants often donate sandwich makings and fruit. After sandwich assembly, some of the group distribute the sandwiches and fruit at the Rescue Mission from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Our partners with this project are the West End Kiwanis, Temple Beth El, and Wilson High School Key Club.

The success of the first two “First Friday Film Forums”, well-attended on April 6 and June 1, has led to planning for programs resuming in the Fall. Possibilities include expanding to regular monthly get-togethers, probably still on First Friday evenings, and adding other adult spirituality explorations such as book discussions, speakers, etc. Collaborative guided conversations presumably will continue to be a feature. 

To aid their efforts, the planners are asking for more input. If you attended “The Mindfulness Movie” or the “With One Voice” film, please share your evaluations. Even if you haven’t attended, please share your suggestions for what you’d like to see in such monthly evening programs.
