At the request of the Board of Trustees of the Tahoma Unitarian Universalist Congregation (TUUC), a short special meeting of the congregation has been set for 12:00 noon on Sunday, November 3, 2019, in the sanctuary of the church at 1115 South 56th Street, Tacoma, Washington. The business to be considered at this meeting shall be limited to:
- Report on the pending internship of Erien Haddock
- Vote on a reassignment of budget lines to provide a stipend for the intern.
Article VI of TUUC’s bylaws sets requirements for congregational meetings,
including that a notice such as this be made in written form thirty days in
advance of the meeting, that the notice shall state the business purpose of the meeting, and that a regular meeting shall be scheduled to occur within 60 days of the end of the fiscal year (June 30).
This article of the bylaws also specifies who may vote at a congregational
meeting. For the meeting on November 3, 2019, members eligible to vote will be those (1) whose membership began on or prior to October 2, 2019 and (2) who have made an identifiable financial contribution to TUUC this fiscal year (which began July 1, 2019) or whose responsibility to make such a contribution has been waived this fiscal year.
