“Tacoma Liquid Natural Gas Plant-Environmental Benefit or Tragedy?”
Wednesday, June 5, 2019, 6:30 p.m.
Featured Speakers: Daniel Villa, 350 Tacoma & Bradley Thompson, 350 Seattle
Puget Sound Energy (PSE) is building a liquified natural gas (LNG) plant. It’s supposed to begin operating by late 2019. They say it’s “cleaner” than other options for our energy needs. But the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, with support from 350 Tacoma and other local groups, has been raising concerns from the get-go. A huge refinery, fracking operation, and 8-million gallon storage tank for gas on our tidal flats that’s been liquified with methane? What could possibly go wrong?
