Meeting ID: 890 5789 0731
Facilitated by Doug Taylor
Our TUUC Freethinking Mystics group will be meeting for our second time for this new church year this next coming Wednesday, Sept 22 at 6:30 p.m. using Season 2, Session 2, of the CAC.org “Learning How to See” podcasts about biases as our reference resource.
On this episode of Learning How to See, Brian, Gigi, Mike and Paul talk about the next three biases that look at the social dimensions of seeing:
Community bias: It is very hard to see something your group doesn’t want you to see. This is a form of social confirmation bias.
Complementarity bias: If people are nice to you, you’ll be open to what they see and have to say. If they aren’t nice to you, you won’t.
Contact bias: If you lack contact with someone, you won’t see what they see.
Our TUUC Freethinking Mystics group meets via Zoom on the Second and Fourth Thursdays using Season 2 of the CAC.org “Learning How to See” podcasts about biases as our reference resource.
As always, please feel free to share, invite and bring kindred spirits! And please remember that it is not required to read/listen to the materials or answer any questions about the topic beforehand. The power is in Your presence, just as you are, which contributes to the energy and richness of the group!
“We are members and friends of Unitarian Universalism walking the path of spiritual experience and growth as it unfolds in our lives. We come to this safe, caring, authentic, compassionate group for inspiration, to study, to explore, and discover our direct experience of the fullness and mystery of life.”
