Lessons in Community

The Swinomish Indian Tribal Community describes six aspects of indigenous health. Consultancy guru Peter Block teaches about the importance of possibility and ownership in civic engagement. Erik Walker Wikstrom explains lay leadership as a spiritual practice. We’ll explore what each says about what we bring to and receive from community.

Worship with the General Assembly!

We will stream the worship service from the gathering of UUs from across the country held this year in Columbus, OH. Inspirational, musically rich, with thousands of UUs joining in. Bring along a breakfast treat to share as we create a informal worship space.

“Apex” – Summer Solstice Service

Summer Solstice is the apex of the sun’s journey through the wheel of the year. On this day the sun stands still in its full ripening, revealing the wild sanctuary of earth in all its splendor. Come revel in this moment with story, song, drumming, and fire.

Mad, Marvelous Music Celebration

It’s mostly music this Sunday. We join in the revelry of sound and song! Come to celebrate our choir, and say farewell to Choir Director Rafe Wadleigh (who won’t go far — he’ll still be around!) It’ll be a party!

“Something Beautiful” – Flower Service for All Ages

Our annual Flower Service takes its theme from the book, Miss Rumphius, by Barbara Cooney. We’re bound to be sure to make something beautiful, and we’ll do that by gathering flowers or plants (garden or house) into a massive bouquet of loveliness (remember to bring some along!). All ages will sing and dance and tell stories and share in the beauty and the love! Y’all come!

Living in the Descending Empire

This is the Auction Sermon from our 2015 Auction! Kris Kaufman has requested a sermon on this topic for many years, and Linda is willing to take it on. We’ll consider if the US is an empire, and what that means in these days of dramatic change.

Hold On! Make Room!

“We’ve ALWAYS done it this way!” is a common cry when change is coming. Tradition, our theme for this month, is about holding on to what’s good, but how do we make room for the new while maintaining our identity?

Religious Explorations Celebration!

Come along and celebrate a great year for Religious Explorations! Utilizing everything from stories to games, discussion to movies, the children and youth in our RE program dove deep into a myriad of Unitarian Universalist themes. They look forward to sharing the highlights of their experience with the congregation. In addition we will be celebrating the Religious Exploration and Adult Religious Exploration teachers, and their gifts of commitment and presence, for a year well done. This is a morning of full community worship. Nursery is provided for those ages 4 and under. No Religious Exploration classes during worship service. Come celebrate all of our Religious Explorations!
