Living in the Descending Empire

This is the Auction Sermon from our 2015 Auction! Kris Kaufman has requested a sermon on this topic for many years, and Linda is willing to take it on. We’ll consider if the US is an empire, and what that means in these days of dramatic change.

Hold On! Make Room!

“We’ve ALWAYS done it this way!” is a common cry when change is coming. Tradition, our theme for this month, is about holding on to what’s good, but how do we make room for the new while maintaining our identity?

Religious Explorations Celebration!

Come along and celebrate a great year for Religious Explorations! Utilizing everything from stories to games, discussion to movies, the children and youth in our RE program dove deep into a myriad of Unitarian Universalist themes. They look forward to sharing the highlights of their experience with the congregation. In addition we will be celebrating the Religious Exploration and Adult Religious Exploration teachers, and their gifts of commitment and presence, for a year well done. This is a morning of full community worship. Nursery is provided for those ages 4 and under. No Religious Exploration classes during worship service. Come celebrate all of our Religious Explorations!

“Now What?”

After revelation, what are we called to do? Once something has been revealed what matters is how we respond to it. We’ll consider next steps.

Blue Boat Home Celebration for the Time for all Ages!
Everyone is invited to celebrate Earth Day by coming dressed as your favorite animal, or some part of the earth that you love. Can you be lava? A tree? We’ll make our own special procession to celebrate Earth Day!

“Chillin’ with the Villains”

Rev. Dr. Emily Brault shares about how her experiences as a prison chaplain have influenced her ideas about what Standing on the Side of Love is really all about.

Rev. Dr. Emily Brault earned her PhD from Vanderbilt University and has been in prison ever since. She currently works at the women’s prison in Oregon, and has a few more years before she paroles. Her experiences as a Chaplain, Academic, and Human Being have all informed her ideas about what love, justice, and faith are really all about.

Challenging Ourselves

Continuing the process of building our awareness of issues around racial justice, this Sunday begins a month during which you are invited to take a Black Lives Matter button and wear it for a month. Our service will provide the context for taking on this challenge and considers what might be revealed to us in the process.

Radical Uncertainty

Easter is often a difficult holiday for religious liberals. Even so, the stories and images hold some deeply human truths about the world and our lives. We live every day with uncertainty, and Easter hints at how we continue on.

#FUUtureFaith

Our stewardship drive kicks off this Sunday, and we’re looking toward next year and what great things we might accomplish. Hear some of the results from our Cottage Meetings and consider both our dreams and how they might be fulfilled.
