Erien Babcock found the world of Unitarian Universalism as a very young adult during her first military assignment. She is a Unitarian Universalist minister serving as a military chaplain, and was ordained by Tahoma UU Congregation and the Church of the Larger Fellowship after serving as a ministerial intern for our congregation.
As someone who loves truth in education, she worked in youth programming in the past and has a strong advocacy history. She is a lover of Star Wars, science fiction in general, comic books, and ice skating. Erien’s husband, Ian, proudly serves in the military. Her blended family has four children who teach the uniqueness of each experience without even trying.

Sometimes it takes a community and mothers of the world to care for all children. In times of hardship, this is still important. Ministerial Intern Erien Babcok will share a homily about mothers to all.

Niebuhr was a balance to the optimism in liberal theology back then, worried about how human beings can be led astray. His reflections may be helpful for us in these difficult times. She has a BA in Theatre Arts from University of Puget Sound, and is Dean of Student Affairs at Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle.
