Paying Attention: What is in Your Cup?
In a wisdom tale, Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh tells us the bump in the road doesn’t create what spills out of the cup we are carrying. Instead it reveals what is already inside. The question is not about who bumps us rather, “What am I carrying in my cup?”

Join us for 30 minutes of sitting or walking meditation in the sanctuary. Each week we have a topic for discussion related to meditating as a way to expand our knowledge and connect with one another. This group is for everyone, whether you meditate frequently, occasionally, or are coming for your first meditation sit. The group is also open to any ideas or topics anyone may wish to share. Alexa and Steve Arnold facilitate the group.

Join us for our Last Tuesday Dinner Group at a different area restaurant each month on the last Tuesday evening. These meals are casual, come-as-you-please gatherings. It's a wonderful way to get to know fellow members of the congregation, and you may individually order from the restaurant's menu. The restaurant will be announced as we approach the last Tuesday. Come, relax, eat, and join in the conversations.

Please join us to help plan an earth-based spirituality community ritual and celebration to acknowledge the Autumn Equinox, Mabon. If we can get enough interested helpers, the public ritual for celebrating the bountiful harvest that summer brought to us, will take place on Friday, September 21st, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. While Tami Jackson and Susie Maharry are both happy to lead the main ceremony, we need your participation as well! For this particular ritual to go forth, we will need volunteers who can attend both the planning meeting and call the quarters, guard the circle, and much more during the ritual. We all get to help create the event! The planning meeting will happen right after the service at 12:00 noon on Sunday, August 5th, and will end by 1:15 p.m. Grab your coffee and join us in the Comfort Room (at the side of the Sanctuary). Please contact Susie Maharry at dir.are@tahomauu.com with questions and to express your interest.

Help us create a successful rummage sale! Join us for a planning meeting for all the details for our rummage sale! Good at organizing? Expert sorter? Know how to set up a delicious bake sale? Great at helping people find their perfect item(s)? Know what it takes to cleanup after a sale? If any of these apply, you're just the person we're looking for! Join us for this planning meeting to get rolling on our rummage sale!

We will begin signing folks up for our annual Chalice Circle program soon. Our Chalice Circles meet once per month for 8 months from October 2018 through May 2019. We will be asking for a serious commitment of attendance for all the sessions. Undecided? No problem! We are hosting a “Sample Circle” using our Soul Matters September theme of the month which is “Vision”.
Please join us after worship service on either Sunday, August 26th or Sunday, September 2nd in the High School Classroom where one of our facilitators will be hosting a sample Chalice Circle, so you can see what they are like to decide if you want to sign up to be in a circle this year. Please contact Susie Maharry for more information at Dir.ARE@tahomauu.com.

Sandwich making at the church begins at 5:30 p.m. Participants often donate sandwich makings and fruit. After sandwich assembly, some of the group distribute the sandwiches and fruit at the Rescue Mission from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Our partners with this project are the West End Kiwanis, Temple Beth El, and Wilson High School Key Club.
