Paying Attention: What is in Your Cup?
In a wisdom tale, Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh tells us the bump in the road doesn’t create what spills out of the cup we are carrying. Instead it reveals what is already inside. The question is not about who bumps us rather, “What am I carrying in my cup?”

Join us for our Last Tuesday Dinner Group at a different area restaurant each month on the last Tuesday evening. These meals are casual, come-as-you-please gatherings. It's a wonderful way to get to know fellow members of the congregation, and you may individually order from the restaurant's menu. The restaurant will be announced as we approach the last Tuesday. Come, relax, eat, and join in the conversations.

Join us for 30 minutes of sitting or walking meditation in the sanctuary. Each week we have a topic for discussion related to meditating as a way to expand our knowledge and connect with one another. This group is for everyone, whether you meditate frequently, occasionally, or are coming for your first meditation sit. The group is also open to any ideas or topics anyone may wish to share. Alexa and Steve Arnold facilitate the group.

Dinner: 6:00 p.m.
Games: 7:00-9:00 p.m. (or later, depending on the interest of the group)
Bring any games you might want to share and an offering for the potluck or snack table.
The event is open to all ages. You do not need to stay for games to attend the potluck, and you do not need to attend to potluck to join in the games. Mark your calendars for the second Friday of every month for food and fun!

Full Moon Pagan Studies aims to present pagan learning topics to both pagans and interested non-pagans in the community. After completing the introduction class students should be able to: properly use terms that describe various pagan practices and beliefs, briefly explain the history of paganism, and have an understanding of what is and isn’t “pagan.” Pagan students should be able to describe their own belief system to others who may not follow the same practices. This is considered one of three foundation classes for our rituals and other classes this year. There is no prerequisite; this class is for beginners, non-pagans, and people who want to improve their ability to interact with a variety of pagans from different belief systems and to “explain” their faith to non-pagans.

Following worship services on second Sundays, join a Chalice Circle open to anyone who would like to attend. The group will begin with any thoughts/reflections/comments about the morning service as a way to get centered, and then focus on the month’s Chalice Circle theme and sharing. Doug Taylor facilitates this monthly open Chalice Circle.

Everyone is invited to come along to a meeting to discuss and dream about ARE programming. We continue to support Chalice Circles, covenant groups, meditation, Freethinking Mystics, among other offerings. What else can we offer? What are your dreams, interests, hopes? Let's make some plans! Questions? Contact Rev. Linda.

Take a deep dive into our Soul Matters theme of the month every fourth Sunday following worship service from September to May. Using a different format than our Chalice Circles, experience a new theme each month in community with others. The deep dives support and reinforce Chalice Circle participation, and are open to all adult members and friends, whether or not you participate as a Chalice Circle member. No prior reading or preparation is required.
Rev. Linda Hart and Doug Taylor co-lead this monthly exploration.
Questions? Contact one of the facilitators or email Admin@TahomaUU.com. Copies of the materials on the monthly theme are available on the Programs table by the door to the sanctuary. Our themes for this year are:
October - Belonging
November - Attention
December - Awe
January - Integrity
February - Wisdom
March - Liberation
April - Wholeness
May - Thresholds

Sandwich making at the church begins at 5:30 p.m. Participants often donate sandwich makings and fruit. After sandwich assembly, some of the group distribute the sandwiches and fruit at the Rescue Mission from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Our partners with this project are the West End Kiwanis, Temple Beth El, and Wilson High School Key Club.
