Paying Attention: What is in Your Cup?
In a wisdom tale, Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh tells us the bump in the road doesn’t create what spills out of the cup we are carrying. Instead it reveals what is already inside. The question is not about who bumps us rather, “What am I carrying in my cup?”

This group is for everyone, whether you meditate frequently, occasionally, or are coming for your first meditation sit. The group is also open to any ideas or topics anyone may wish to share. Alexa and Steve Arnold facilitate the group.

Following worship services on second Sundays, join a Chalice Circle open to anyone who would like to attend. The group will begin with any thoughts/reflections/comments about the morning service as a way to get centered, and then focus on the month's Chalice Circle theme and sharing. Last Tuesday Dinner Group at Tacoma Szechuan
9701 South Tacoma Way #102, Lakewood, WA
This month we’ll meet at Tacoma Szechuan, starting at 5:30 p.m. To keep it casual and easy, everyone independently orders from the menu and receives a separate check.
Each month, this evening dining experience is a relaxing and fun way to mingle with fellow Tahoma UU members and friends. We usually have between 16 and 22 friendly folk for the gathering. No reservations are needed. Simply come, relax, eat, and join in the conversations. Any questions, contact one of the coordinators: Margot Marsh, or Pat and Neil Glenesk.

The Paddle Raise at the Auction this year raised money for doing some social justice programming and the attendees at the Collaboration Gathering thought through some options to both spend the funds raised and encourage our members and friends of all ages to take part in making a difference. There are three proposals for projects and donations:
-- Nourish Pierce County, with an opportunity to help assemble meals for the folks who use the food banks in our county
-- Paint Tacoma Beautiful, with an opportunity to be part of a team that paints a house for a low income or elderly homeowner
-- Thomas Mann Elementary School, with a project yet to be determined
Learn more about what's being proposed and get ready to help out!

These potluck dining experiences are held several times a year in volunteer host homes. Our next one is Saturday, April 6, 2019. Our Get Acquainted Dinners are usually for 6 or 8, held on the same evening at various member’s homes. The host provides a main dish and coordinates side dishes, salads, or desserts provided by the guests. Look for more information in March about registering in-person following worship services in March. Once the lists of guests and hosts are coordinated, the hosts will contact you with details.
