Paying Attention: What is in Your Cup?
In a wisdom tale, Buddhist monk, Thich Nhat Hanh tells us the bump in the road doesn’t create what spills out of the cup we are carrying. Instead it reveals what is already inside. The question is not about who bumps us rather, “What am I carrying in my cup?”

On Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. Rev. Linda will be on Zoom with a cup of tea and available for conversation and checking in. Any and everyone is welcome to come along for casual conversation. She'll have a question of the day (for example, "Where did you find joy in the last week?"), but any and everyone can check in and chat as they are most comfortable.
Participants are encouraged to arrive a few minutes before the meeting start time, so attendees can be invited into the Zoom room. Once the gathering circle has been created for tea time, the Zoom “door” will be closed, and late attendees will not be able to enter. Your timely login allows us the opportunity to create a space for interested participants, and publicly offer this invitation, as well as alleviate concerns about potential mischievous Zoombombers.

We are members and friends of Unitarian Universalism walking the path of spiritual experience and growth as it unfolds in our lives. We come to this safe, caring, authentic, compassionate group for inspiration, to study, and to explore our direct experience of the fullness and mystery of life.
The group is facilitated by Doug Taylor.
This year the group is using the book, Radical Compassion: Learning to Love Yourself and Your World with the Practice of RAIN by Tara Brach.
In this heartfelt and deeply practical book, she offers an antidote: an easy-to-learn four-step meditation that quickly loosens the grip of difficult emotions and limiting beliefs. Each step in the meditation practice (Recognize, Allow, Investigate, Nurture) is brought to life by memorable stories shared by Tara and her students as they deal with feelings of overwhelm, loss, and self-aversion, with painful relationships, and past trauma--and as they discover step-by-step the sources of love, forgiveness, compassion, and deep wisdom alive within all of us.

The Infinite CUUPS pagan group invites you to join us for "Making Mabon Magic: A Healing & Wholing Ritual During COVID-19." This teaching ritual on Zoom will share basic techniques for casting, grounding, cleansing, raising and directing power, divination, animal wisdom, and then re-grounding and releasing energies in sacred space. We will create our space “between the worlds” and explore the Fall Equinox/Harvest Festival Mabon, paying close attention to the impact of COVID-19 on harvesting and reaping, and how to use magic for healing and wholing in our lives.
A list of required items follows, please be sure to read and prepare. RSVPs are not necessary, but the ceremony doors will close at 7:15 p.m., so please arrive promptly.
The following items are required. Please gather and have at hand when you arrive in the ritual Zoom space.
Required tools:
1. A piece of paper with “I Ground by ____” written on it. Fill in the blank before our gathering with one word that helps you feel calm and connected. Examples: Sitting, singing, walking.
2. A small bowl of water you can hold in both hands and sip from
3. Salt in a separate dish to add to the water (table salt is fine – any salt you can ingest a teeny bit of, so not bath salts!)
4. A knife for mixing (a ritual knife if you have one, or a dinner knife is fine if you don’t)
5. A piece of paper with “I Grow by ____” written on it. Fill in the blank before our gathering with one word that expands you. Examples: Reaching, trying, risking
6. A candle that you can see the flame of and matches or a lighter. Must be a real flame.
7. A hand mirror or compact mirror.
8. A piece of paper with “I Know by ___” written on it. Fill in the blank before our gathering with one way you receive. Examples: Listening, watching, waiting.
Optional Preparations:
Wear blues, greens, golds, and/or black. And/or wear something special that says “ritual” to you.
We will be working with a Frog Story, so any items that relate to frogs.
The ceremony "doors" will close at 7:15 p.m. so please arrive promptly. Blessed Be!
